Skin Deep

I wish my eyes were made of powder.
I wish they would just disintegrate at the very moment I look at your flawless being.
My vulnerability has left me shattered, and your comeliness grows by the second.
This can only last so long.

As the sun shines down upon my face reality sets in.
The cool breeze brushing against my hair makes me feel alive, but the feeling quickly subsides.
I realize that to you I am nothing, and will always be nothing.
I have expired and become hopeless.
Time has no boundaries.
If only you would empathize.

I'm left here staring at your face and my heart drops.
In the end I am left in repose because you are not who you pretend to be.
Beauty is only skin deep.

Thanks for Reading.
